Mexican Roots Trio

Every genre and sub-genre has its beginnings and its recognized pioneers from the dawn of the recording era. Country music has Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys and Hank Williams. The blues has Robert Johnson. Here the Mexican Roots Trio honors the music from the beginnings of the Tejano conjunto sound: songs spanning twenty years (1930's - 1940's) from Tex-Mex pioneers such as Narciso Martinez, Lydia Mendoza, Juan Lopez and many more. Made up of Grammy award winner Joel Guzman, his wife Sarah Fox, a powerful and emotive vocalist, and remarkable bajo sexto player Miguel Medina, the Mexican Roots Trio is an ensemble dedicated to the celebration and preservation of the timeless music that brought happiness to another segment of America's Greatest Generation.
